De-stressing tips for the holidays
- Do breathing exercises. It reduces your blood pressure and relaxes your body. Inhale through your nose, exhale through your mouth. Focus on your breathing pattern and be mindful of this through the day.
- Exercise. You can do it in intervals of only 10 minutes throughout the day, with activities such as taking a walk, doing your ab work, or adding some stretching or yoga.
- Listen to music. Studies show music can alter your mood.
- Enjoy a relaxing cup of herbal tea and 1 ounce of dark chocolate. Both are full of antioxidants. This may also rev up your libido.
- The joy of giving is great for the immune system. It can be doing something simple or spending more time with family and friends.
